Winter Storm Brought Heavy Snow and Strong Winds in the US Northeast
As per CNN, a winter storm continues to deliver heavy snow and strong winds to the US Northeast as it exits the region. On Sunday, around 30 million Americans across the mid-Atlantic and New England were under winter weather alert. Likewise, In US South, freeze warnings were issues for more than 26 million residents.
On Saturday, the winter storm dumped more than 8 inches of snow in parts of Southeastern Ohio, West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky, Western Pennsylvania and New York.
Authorities in Florida also declared a state of emergency in Clay, Highlands, Marion and Putnam counties, due to multiple severe weather hazards across the northeastern and central parts of the state. Thunderstorms, strong winds, heavy rain and isolated tornados resulted in widespread power outages in the region. On Saturday, more than 85, 000 houses and businesses were out of power from South to the Northeast.
