Severe Thunderstorm, Tornadoes and Blizzard Likely To Impact The US This Week.

 In Event News

As per CNN, a series of storm systems will impact the US this week from coast to coast.  An outbreak of severe weather is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday as a large-scale low-pressure system draws closer to the Plains, Midwest, and South today, bringing destructive winds, large hail, heavy rain, and tornadoes.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed a Level 3 out of 5 “enhanced risk” of severe weather today for central Arkansas, however, anywhere from San Antonio to the Ohio Valley could see storms today. The extreme northeast of Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and Western and Central Arkansas, including Little Rock, are under a tornado watch today. Large hail (possibly greater than baseball size) and wind gusts to 70 mph are also a concern for the area.

Starting Monday, a huge storm will bring blizzard conditions to portions of the Northern Plains over the next few days, as well as the chance of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes to a greater part of the Central USA.

According to AccuWeather, there is the potential for this storm to bring record snowfall for the month of April to cities such as Bismarck and Grand Forks, North Dakota, where the record for snow in April is 17 inches. Due to the predicted snow, power outages are likely, and travel will become very difficult to impossible.
