Severe flooding caused by Storm Babet has led to danger-to-life warnings in Retford, Nottinghamshire. Cleanup efforts have begun in the worst-affected areas. Nottinghamshire county council declared a major incident, leading to approximately 200 evacuations. Four deaths have been confirmed, with fears of more casualties. Many properties have been flooded, with record river levels reported.

Cleanup operations are underway, but flooding is anticipated to continue until Wednesday, affecting areas in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The Environment Agency has cautioned that flooding along the River Severn will persist until Wednesday as well.
