Coastal Fire Leaves a Trail of Destruction in Orange County, California

In Orange County, California, the fast-growing bush fire has destroyed at least 20 homes and led to the evacuation of approximately thousands, on Wednesday. According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the Coastal Fire started in the Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park on Wednesday afternoon and rapidly grew to about 2000 acres.

According to the fire department officials, several multi-million-dollar mansions were engulfed in the fast-moving bush fire. Reportedly, 20 upscale houses were completely destroyed, 11 damaged near the Laguna Beach area. The local administration also declared a state of emergency to help combat the growing blaze.

The fire has caused a trail of destruction in Orange County. Around 900 homes are under evacuation orders. The cause of the fire is still unknown, however, few reports suggest that circuit activity was occurring close in time to when the brush fire was reported. As per the NWS, the fire was fueled by gusty winds that reached up to 30 mph in the area.
