Central Plains to Mid-Atlantic to be Blanketed with Snow by a New Winter Storm

 In Event News

A new storm is set to bring accumulating snow from across the central Plains to the mid-Atlantic coast by Saturday morning. The storm is moving farther and could cause slippery travel conditions. The first storm, affecting the northern Midwest and Northeast, laid the groundwork for colder air to advance southward, setting the stage for snow rather than rain in the Ohio Valley and parts of the mid-Atlantic.

The storm’s quick movement, characteristic of “clippers,” means it will bring limited moisture from the Pacific, leading to a narrow band of 1-3 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts. Cities from Omaha, Nebraska, to St. Louis may see impacts. Slippery conditions will be in cities like Cincinnati and Pittsburgh on Friday night.

Areas in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania could see 3-6 inches of snow. The storm might affect Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Dover, Delaware, and Atlantic City, New Jersey, with 1-3 inches of snow. The storm’s intensity and speed will determine the exact snowfall rates and total accumulations.
